On August 18, 2025, Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China, met with Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput, Governor of the Bank of Thailand. They exchanged views on global economic and financial developments and bilateral financial cooperation. Xuan Changneng, Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, attended the meeting.

The two Governors renewed the Chinese Yuan/Thai Baht Bilateral Currency Swap Arrangement Between the People's Bank of China and the Bank of Thailand. The size of the arrangement is RMB70 billion/Thai Baht 370 billion. The arrangement is valid for five years and can be renewed upon mutual consent.

The renewal of this arrangement will further deepen monetary and financial cooperation between China and Thailand, facilitate bilateral trade and investment, and contribute to financial market stability.
