According to preliminary statistics, the total assets of financial institutions reached 480.64 trillion yuan at end-Q2 2024, increasing 7.0 percent year on year. Specifically, the assets of banking institutions registered 433.10 trillion yuan, increasing 6.6 percent year on year; those of securities institutions reached 13.75 trillion yuan, decreasing 0.1 percent year on year; those of insurance institutions reached 33.80 trillion yuan, growing 15.7 percent year on year.

The total liabilities of financial institutions reached 438.68 trillion yuan, increasing 6.9 percent year on year. Specifically, the liabilities of banking institutions registered 397.66 trillion yuan, increasing 6.4 percent year on year; those of securities institutions reached 10.26 trillion yuan, decreasing 1.8 percent year on year; those of insurance institutions reached 30.75 trillion yuan, growing 16.5 percent year on year.
